Plush Hazy Double IPA Extract 5 Gallon

The name says it all. Plush is a hazy double IPA with all the juicy hops added in late additions and dry hops you'd expect from the style. Citrusy Mandarina Bavaria late in the boil. El Dorado at flame out. Amarillo and Citra CRYO for the first dry hop. More Amarillo and Citra with Galaxy for the second dry hop. All laid out on a pillowy grain bill with Pilsner base, Flaked Wheat, and Golden Naked Oats. The hop schedule, varieties chosen, and amounts given come together as a wall of sound on your pallet.

Avoid the Oxygen

Hazy IPA's are super susceptible to oxidization. Be careful to minimize oxidization on both the hot and cold side. Gently stir in the mash tun. Try not to splash in the boil kettle. If you have CO2 available to you, flush out your fermentor after dry hopping, utilize a zero oxygen transfer method, and if you bottle do so from the keg if you can.

Hazy double IPA isn't exactly a food beer. The big flavors run over most things. Best you can do is pair with an equally big flavor. The bright citrus and sharp onion flavors of a Ceviche and both accentuate and combat the equally big flavors of a hazy double.
