It is characterized by an intense smoke flavor, a smooth/sweet smoked malt character, and without any astringent or phenolic harshness. Contributes a distinct "camp fire" smoke aroma and flavor. Alpha Amylase 50 .

5-10% will produce a noticeable smoke character in lighter styles such as Oktoberfests & Scottish Ales.
10-20% will produce a fairly pronounced smoke character in lighter styles such as Oktoberfests & Scottish Ales.
30-60% will produce a noticeable (30%) to pronounced (60%) smoke flavor in darker styles like Porters and Stouts.
