American Oak Chips - Light Toast

Light toasted American Oak Chips are a great addition to beer or wine. They allow you to imitate the oak barrel taste and flavor without the expense of buying an oak barrel. For red wine you may use 2 - 3 cups. For whites 1 - 1.5 cups should do it. With beer these should be used lightly in the secondary for 3 - 14 days depending on desired oak flavoring. Use is as easy as boiling in water for 10 minutes, draining the water, and adding to your fermentor.
